How Safe Is Your Sex?

Being in a mixed status relationship can bring up more detailed questions about how HIV is passed on. Here we look at the risk of HIV from different kinds of sex.

"Is it OK not using condoms when he’s the bottom, his viral load is low or he pulls out before coming?"

Andy

Before looking at this question about fucking in detail, let’s look at the basics. Safer sex advice hasn’t changed over the years. It’s still:

  • condoms for fucking
  • infected cum and pre-cum is best kept out of the mouth

During sex between men, HIV can be passed on in blood, cum and pre-cum. Any sex act that lets infected blood, cum or pre-cum into someone else’s body and into their bloodstream risks passing on HIV. There’s not enough HIV in sweat, tears, piss and spit for these fluids to pass HIV on.
